Bearing a stolen title and wandering an unusual path, Vhern never forgets that they are living a life snatched from the jaws of Fate. To (quite literally) defeat one's demons and live on in the face of unspeakable odds is no small feat- a testament to both their tenacity and to the bonds of friendship and family they forged; to what pulled them back when all seemed lost.Once a cruel weapon wielded by vicious hands, they're now learning to be human(ish) once more, even as the Voidsent blood of their former Avatar runs through their corrupted veins. Without the specter of sacrifice hanging heavy over their head, this once solemn and withdrawn soldier now sees each new moment as an opportunity- to learn, to seek, to protect, and to love wholeheartedly.Despite being at war with their own hungers and not fully aware of what power now rests in their hands, they seek to leave their cruelest aspects behind them and become a kinder, gentler, happier person- even if their loose grasp on morality (and constant yawning hunger for aether) is its own occasional cause for concern.

EX-GARLEAN - No matter how much they have come to love Eorzea, Vhern still holds their former homeland fondly in their heart, despite all the pain. They would likely get along with fellow expatriates who have also managed to find themselves on a new continent and may be inclined to help them get back on their feet, if they haven't already. On the other hand, while they have managed to break free of their former nationalism, it's still easy enough to make them an avatar of the pain and hurt the Garleans caused to so many people- and a single person is much easier to confront than the entire legacy of a fallen power.VOIDSENT - Vhern does their best to hide their true nature from most, but others of their kind or those who have been touched by the Void may still yet be able to peer past their veils and sense the violent churning storm of darkness and levin that lurks beneath. Their power may be enough to entice or intrigue those who seek to claim or control it; a worthy ally, perhaps, if they can unlearn their own hesitance about those whose they may now call kin.REAPER - To wield the war scythe is an art at risk of being lost as the Empire crumbles. Soulstones are hardly plentiful, and rarer still are those who have mastered the weapon in its most traditional form. Vhern is reluctant to call themself such, and even more reluctant to teach, but for those who wish to keep a dying skill alive, there may be little in the way of alternative options.
Seek them out as teacher, mentor, and friend if you wish to learn the art of the scythe- though rest assured it will not be an easy task to convince them of such.





MONSTER HUNTER - Having been both literally and figuratively 'adopted' by the Drakenshield company soon after arriving on Eorzean shores, Vhern now considers themself a slayer of beasts both great and small. If it poses a threat to Spoken settlements, it is within the Reaper's purview- and the more dangerous, the better, as Vhern is utterly addicted to the thrill of battle. Those who are not able to offer proper payment need only entice them with a substantial adrenaline rush.PREY - Voidsent are abominations, intruders from another realm who come to feast upon the Source's abundant ambient aether. There are many and more who have taken up the mantle of hunter, seeking to kill these creatures wherever they may roam and send them back to the abyss they came from. If you count yourself among these number, then Vhern may be another one of your targets- though they bear many stark differences from the prey you are familiar with. Is that enough to give you pause? Or simply more reason to destroy this which makes a mockery of man with its form?AETHER - Vhern's nature demands of them a constant supply of aether, especially when they must expend it in a fight; they cannot generate it naturally and therefore must literally consume it from richer sources.
